Which Parts Of The Instant Pot Can You Put In The Dishwasher?
Not only does an Instant Pot make cooking easy, but the clean up is easy too! With the exception of the cooker base and the detachable cord, the other parts of your Instant Pot should be dishwasher safe. Which Instant Pot Parts Need Regular Cleaning?
You should clean all of these parts after every use of your Instant Pot pressure cooker:
- Inner Pot
- Lid
- Lid parts: anti-block shield, sealing ring, steam release valve cover, steam release valve, float valve, silicone cap for float valve, condensation collector. (Note that regularly cleaning the lid sealing ring in the dishwasher can help reduce odor.)
- Accessories (will vary by model): steam rack, condensation collector, protective pad or storage cover, air fryer basket base, boil/dehydrating tray, soup spoon, rice paddle, measuring cup, silicone mini mitts

Can The Instant Pot Lid & Lid Parts Go In The Dishwasher?
Yes, the Instant Pot lid is top rack dishwasher safe. However, you should remove all of the small lid parts before putting the lid in the dishwasher. Since some of these parts are small, be sure to put them in the utensil holder so that you don’t loose them during the wash. If any of these parts go missing, your Instant Pot may display an error code the next time you go to use it.
After you clean the lid in the dishwasher, you need to drain any excess water from it. Hold it over a sink by grasping the handle. Then rotate it 360 degrees a few times. Water should drain from the lid. Reassemble the lid if you removed the small pieces. Store the lid upside down on the cooker base.
Can The Instant Pot Inner Pot Go In The Dishwasher?
The Instant Pot inner pot is also dishwasher safe. Washing the pot in the dishwasher instead of by hand may be especially useful if there is any food residue stuck to it. If left, this residue could eventually trigger a “Food Burn” error code.
Can You Put Instant Pot Accessories In The Dishwasher?
Yes, the Instant Pot accessories listed above are top rack dishwasher safe. Be sure to only place them on the top rack! These accessory parts may get damaged if you place them on the lower rack.
What Parts of The Instant Pot Must Be Cared For by Hand?
The detachable cord and the cooker base must be wiped down by hand. Never put either in the dishwasher or expose them to lots of water! Take a damp, non-abrasive cloth and gently wipe down the cooker base and/or the cord. Be sure to avoid wiping the prongs of the cord.
